My role was to develop a program in partnership with the Writers Room a university-community literary arts program engaged in creative placemaking and art for social justice. This event was intended connect the exhibition to local community members, many of whom are senior citizens, and Drexel students. This diverse group gathered to create, write, and socialize. After the workshop, everyone enjoyed a catered meal. I created an interactive presentation and slide show and discussed the exhibition highlights and key narrative themes with attendees who then created artistic buttons and journals using mixed media and collage inspired by the Electric Factory and Live Aid.

Participants also wrote, based on the prompt: “Why do we dance to music? Why does music evoke such strong emotions and memories? Why is there rhythm in music? And why is there music?” Over twenty students and community members attended this workshop.
