RASPBERRY PI Radio INTERACTIVE
Conversion of a 1934 Atwater Kent Cathedral-style radio into an interactive for the galleries of Philadelphia Revealed. I employed a Raspberry Pi with mini-amp and programmed it to play a selection of vintage radio programs in mp3 format. Gallery visitors could tune to a program (play a track) by tuning the knob.
Overview
This interactive was popular with many visitors both young and old (including a group of 1st graders dancing to the radio in the gallery). The radio broadcasts fill the galleries with sounds of vintage commercials, big band music, and even the 1943 baseball all-star game.
